Princess Astrid, Representative of King Philip of Belgium visits Visits National Museum

 

Her Royal Highness PrincessAstrid, the representative of King Philip of Belgium, and her accompanying delegation visited the National Museum in Riyadh, on Saturday March 15 2014. Princess Astrid was received by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, a number of officials, Sweden Ambassador to the Kingdom, Dag Yulin Danflet, and the Saudi Ambassador to Belgium, Abdurrahman Sulaiman al-Ahmad. After the reception, Princess Astrid and Prince Sultan bin Salman were briefed on the discoveries of joint Saudi-Belgian excavation mission in Al-Ghat and they listened to the commentary of the Vice President of Antiquities and Museums Sector, Dr. Ali Al-Ghaban, on the project of Saudi-Belgian mission to survey the prehistoric sites at Al-Ghat in Riyadh
During the visit, Princess Astrid met Princess Adellah bint Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the National Museum.  Then she and her delegation took a tour of the museum, and they viewed the history of the ancient civilizations that took place in Arabia. At the end of the tour, Her Royal Highness wrote a word in the VIP guestbook, and she expressed her pleasure for having the chance to visit the museum. Furthermore, she described it as a landmark reflecting the bright history of the Kingdom. Souvenirs were exchanged at the end of the visit .
